So tuesday night I went out with fighty and liam for a bit to play some NTN Trivia. After a few games of that, we went over to the Mad Frog to see Chad’s Band, KDKO. For those of you who don’t know Chad would be Kelly’s current boyfriend. They are a punk band, which is something that I typically don’t listen to, but their show was pretty good. The one really cool thing about the night was that I got to see Julie again. Julie is Kelly’s really only friend that is a girl, well at least that is what it seems like. Over the summer it was my, Kelly and Julie hanging out all the time and sometimes my buddy Jon. I hadn’t seen her quite awhile, so it was great to see her and catch up on everything.

Last night, a group of us headed down to Louisville for the O.A.R. show. What a fantastic show it was, especially the encore when Marc and the singer for Llama decided to play a few covers. It is always fun to see those bands…

I really have no clue at all what I am doing tonight, but I’ll keep everyone updated. :)

I finally cut my hair. So yeah I have no more blonde tips or whatever you want to call. It is pretty damn short and quite fun to rub. I was gonna take a pic but I can’t find that stupid digital camera that we have. Ah well, goodnight…

Once again, I took almost a week off from updating this thing…
So on Wednesday, I had a hockey game followed up by some drinking at the Old Saloon. Pretty typical of a night, but the place was packed. I saw some guys that I went to high school with, that I hadn’t seen in quite some time. It’s always nice to catch up for a little bit.

Thursday, hmm… Oh yeah, Lam Fighty and I went to see a band called Guest play at Mad Frog. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but Liam went to high school with the keyboard player and said they were very talented, and that they were. These guys were pretty much a jam band, but they had a bunch of talent and really cool stage show, well given that it was Mad Frog. I think I may have to check out a few more of their shows in the future.

The big bearcats game was on Friday vs. Marquette. Callsen got some tickets to the game through Chipotle so a few of us went to the game. We were pretty high up in the stands but at least we were there for the game. If you didn’t already know we pulled out the victory by 1 point. It was a great game, and I look forward to what they will do in the tourney. After that, fighty and I went and met Liam to watch Homonculus play. It was a UC sponsored event so of course very few people showed up. I did get my first experience in tearing down a stage setup though. It’s tough work but quite interesting to see how much shit it really takes. I think the PAC people really took a liking to me. :)

Saturday we didn’t do much of anything too exciting. Just drank some beers down in clifton. And then Sunday I had a hockey game followed up with some Mad Show watching over at Ken’s place. Nothing too exciting but it is always nice to relax with those guys. That brings me to today, where I am once again sitting in my cubicle working…

The Bearcats had a blow out on Friday. Logan outscored the opponents by himself, 41-37. It was a very fun game. We just chilled down in clifton after that, went to a little party, did whatever. It was a good night.

Saturday afternoon, we decided to attempt a jam session out at fighty’s parents house. Little did I know the buick was going to try and die on me. So that didn’t work very well. I think fighty, pete and a kid on sax played for a bit, but I had to miss it cause I was carless. Later on in the night, after the mazda was fixed, liam and I went to a Woodside Quinn show in Miami. It was a long and great show, like 3 hours long. I think the bar really enjoyed them, and we handed out a ton of demo cd’s. After that not much happened.

Sunday we all went to Michelle Branch. It was free, and I kind of wanted to go before we had free tickets, so we all went. She was pretty good. Her band drowned out her guitar playing, but the few solo songs that she did really impressed me. I’m not sure if I would have paid the 17 bucks to see her, but it was definitely worth the free trip.

Yeserday in a few words. Work, Liam’s House, Murphy’s. That about sums it up, nothing too exciting at all.

I found out that Amanda wants to marry her current boyfriend. I’m not saying that she is going to soon or anything, but it appears as if she would like to sometime in the future. Kind of shocking for me at first, cause it seems pretty soon to make a decision like that, but she probably knows what she is doing, at least I hope so. I would say that I am pretty much over all of it in an ex-boyfriend way, but I still care for her as a friend. That’s about it, I just had to post that cause it was kind of bothering me.

So last night I wasn’t really in that great of a mood. I guess it was the fact that this Valentines day was the first one in years that I hadn’t been with anyone. Something I did figure out was that it was much cheaper this way. :) So instead of just sitting around being pissy, I decided to venture down to campus to hang out with Fighty and Lam. We went Krogering, well really just to get a good selection of beer, then went to fightys. We listened to the Valentines Day mix cd that Liam brought over, jammed out to a little duckfood, and watched Office Space. That movie will always cheer you up no matter what. It wasn’t anything to terribly exciting, but it worked. We talked about possibly going to Bogart’s, but chose not too since neither of them have much money. It all worked out, and now it’s Friday. Tonight I’m going to the Bearcats Basketball game and do some partying as well. Nothing really big planned but I’m sure it will be fun!

Yeah Valentines Day! I’m sure you can sense my excitement. :) So yeah, I don’t have anything planned for tonight. I’ll probably just go to a bar and besides it should be easier to pick out the single girls tonight anyways.

So I haven’t really done much of anything since Monday except for last night. Well I guess I did go to the Bearcats game the other night. But last night I went to the Old Saloon because….. well because it was wednesday! It was a very poor showing overall at the bar, and an awful representation of our group. So basically it was me, Adam and this girl that he is seeing or whatever. Well I don’t know if they were before last night, but they seemed to hit it off last night pretty well, so I am making some assumptions. She was nice, and we even got her to sing. Of course I had to sing before she would, so I brought ‘Faith’ out of retirement. So I get up there and start singing the song, about half way through this hot girl walks up behind me while I’m singing and starts saying things. She was like ‘Are you single?’ she was even saying some about ‘later tonight.’ This whole time she has her arms wrapped around me and is moving them this way and that. Yeah, it was pretty nuts, and the first time I have seen something like that happen at the saloon. I definitely skipped a few lines in the song, but it was worth it. The song ends and she leaves right away to go over to her ‘boyfriend’ or whoever he is. I was just like wtf??? Ah well, it was fun, and made me feel like a star for a few minutes. :) That’s it for last night really, nothing too exciting. I was late to work today, I need to get a new alarm clock. So now I’m gonna be here at work for quite awhile, so it’s a good thing I don’t have shit to do tonight…

Lots of different things has been going on since the last entry, and of course I have seen quite a few shows…

The first one would be Swim at the Mad Frog in Cincy. This was only my second or third time seeing them, and I enjoyed this one more than the few before. They are a little different than most of the bands that I usually go see, but these guys are really talented and are doing pretty well. It’s always cool to see a cello being played in a somewhat heavy band. I was really impressed with these guys this time around, and I’m gonna have to pick up a cd sometime. After the show, we all went back over to Liam’s place, where fighty, peter and I played some for the small crowd there. It was fun, and we tried some songs we hadn’t really done before, mainly on requests from the people there…

The week after that show was pretty uneventful, although I did go to One Eyed Jack’s to see a band called Worldwide. They are a funk band I guess you could say. Seven guys in the band, each with different influences that come together really well. For those of you out there who knew about Ordinary Peoples, these guys are the closest I have seen to being a replacement. I went to this show after running into one of Amanda’s friends, Lindsay, in the mall. It was great to get to sit and talk to her and Sara again, who both lived with Amanda a couple years back. I will definitely have to check these guys out more often…

That brings me to this past weekend, which was a really tiring but fun one. First of all, after work on Friday, I went straight up to Columbus with fighty and liam. Fighty and I played some over a Joe Vedder’s place after freebase played a few songs for us. We had a good time and actually got some of the songs recorded again. After all that was over, we went up to the newport to catch Red Wanting Blue. This show was probably the best I have seen the play, and of course the beers were flowing very well. We hit up some parties and such, with a fairly large crowd of people. Nothing can beat going around OSU’s campus with Wacko, Kraut and Liam put together. Oh yeah, Kraut also loaned me his minidisc for awhile, since he has no use for it. So I now am a taper. :) Thanks Jay!

Saturday, Liam and I went up to Dayton to visit my brother and catch a Woodside Quinn show. We did some pre-gamming in the dorm, and got a chance to meet a girl that my bro is talking to now, Julie. She is such a cutie, and very nice as well. We drug both of them to the show, and I think that they both enjoyed it pretty well. I attempted to record this show, but had some problems with the levels and such. Give me a break though, it was my first time! I also found out that Scott (saxophone) had quit the band, so it was pretty different without him there. They are going to start searching for a new guy to join the band though. I wish them all the best of luck. After the show we went all around campus going to parties and had a great time. I think we finally ended up in bed around 5. I hope to visit him up there more often, especially since the school year is almost over.

Last night, I saw Woodside Quinn again, this time in Oxford at the Stadium. I patched out of a guy with a taping rig and got a great pull. I’m gonna try and convert it this week so keep your eyes open. The crowd, who was mainly there to see Oval Opus, really took a liking to Woodside. I think these guys are doing great. It really wasn’t too exciting of a night after that.

That bring me to today, where I feel very tired and slow, but that’s the sign of a good weekend. :)
