Well I really did it this time. What a slacker I am. Anyways here is a little update on what I’ve been doing…

I’ve been to the Cleveland area, a whole bunch of times recently. We were checking out bands like O.A.R., Red Wanting Blue, Virginia Coalition and Woodside Quinn. I will definitely be updating my Concert List somewhat soon. Tons of fun times had with lots of people, some who I haven’t seen in quiet some time…

I got my grades for this past quarter. I pulled a 3.66 which made me and my parents very happy. I’m still keeping my total above a 3.2, which is definitely a plus…

So it’s about Christmas time, and I am so broke. I need to come up with some money to buy my mom something, since she has been helping me out. Good news is, I don’t have to buy for any girls. :)

Happy Holidays to everyone, and I’m really gonna keep this thing up to date from now on…

Dammit, I did it again. Seems to be I can only remember to do this when I’m at work. Well last week was the final week of classes, and now it’s finals week. I know at one point, I talked to Amanda very shortly after writing my last journal entry. It went really well, and I’m happy about that. I don’t know if she still wants to try and be my friend, but I really do want to be hers. The conversation went more along friendly lines that we have before, like we weren’t acting like ex’s anymore. We were just like two old friends catching up on things. I really enjoyed that and I hoped she did too, cause I don’t want her out of my life ever. If you are reading this, please give us a chance at being friends. :) I didn’t go out and party last week as much as I normally do, for a few reasons. I was sick for a couple days, I had no money at all, and I was busy with school work. I still have a project to finish and a paper for history class, both of these being due this wednesday. Last wednesday I did get to see Woodside Quinn again. That was a ton of fun, and great to talk to those guys again. They appear to be doing great and will be playing at Bogart’s next week sometime. Nothing else too exciting for that week, except for I dyed my hair. I guess the official term was that I highlighted the tips, but I think it’s pretty cool looking. I’ll have to get some pictures up somewhere soon. The weekend was a blast. I was supposed to go to our annual ITI work Christmas party. I only really had one choice for a date at this point, but in the end she ended up not showing up on time. So I just skipped the party and went to some Clifton parties with Liam, Fighty, Nick, and all those guys. We ended up playing flip cup for most of the night, and then late night I went to Murphy’s on the condition that all my drinks were payed for. I showed up and knew tons of people at the bar. Guys from high school, Scott Caparso, Amanda’s roommates from sophomore year, etc. It was a great time, and really cool to see these people again. I ended up very drunk by the time we left, so I just somehow made it to Liam’s house where I passed out on the couch. The next morning, we decided to get up early (some of us still feeling the effects from the night before) and drink a few before going to the UC football game. That was a blowout, with UC leading 21-0 at the end of the first. We stuck around, to watch all the drunks at the game, including my buddies from class. After that was about over, we headed to a free Oval Opus concert, and chilled until it was time for the UC basketball game. This was a fun time as well, and UC ended up pulling out the victory. This day wasn’t close to being over, so we headed over to Bogart’s to try to get into the Ordinary Peoples / Afroman show for free. Steve and Ari (from OP) could not help us out with getting in, but they gave us some promotional stuff for their show coming up at the Mad Frog. So with all that stuff in hand, we headed to Liam’s house. Everyone there was getting ready to go to some party, so we tagged along with them. The place was packed, and kind of annoying, but then this band called Fate Hates Us start playing. They played a bunch of really cool covers and their drummer was something else. Fighty said he was the second best drummer he has ever seen, behind Carter Beauford. I would have to agree with that comment. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay for them to finish their set, but we were going to Miami to see Red Wanting Blue. This was like the 3rd or 4th time we had seen them there, and it was just as good, probably better than the ones before. They just sounded good. After that show, we went home, ate and drank a little and passed out around 5 or so. Then yesterday, I just attempted to study and write shit, with minimal success. Then we had a hockey game, and then it was bed time. That brings me to here, with the thought that I should write here more often. Have a good one..

Well thanksgiving was great over at my grandma’s house. She made a ton of food, and of course me and my cousins vowed to eat it all. We ate everything but the sweet potatoes and cranberry stuff. Who wants that crap anyways? So after that, we all passed out on the couches for a while, trying to watch Shrek. That movie was pretty funny from what I saw of it, so maybe I’ll have to try to watch it again sometime. After sleeping for a long time, I woke up and headed to Clifton for an uneventful night down there. Friday night I went to my Aunt Annie’s house for another gathering, since everyone was not able to make it over to grandma’s. I sat around and drank with my cousin Jim all night, until my other cousin Adam came and picked us up. We just bought a bunch of beer and went to his house to drink it all. It was fun, nothing too special, but we did have a late night trip to Perkins, which is always fun. Then last night I went out with all the high school buddies again. Apparently I missed a good party at Bryan’s house the night before. I wish I could have made it there, but I didn’t have my car and I was drunk. So I got to hear all about that, while we drank and played some pool. It was like a high school reunion up there with people from all different classes. Pretty cool to see some of them again, especially Bryan Shova, a kid I played hockey with years ago. Nothing much else went on, except Kelly showing up with all the Clifton guys and somehow convincing me to stay later. I got them to drive me to my car though, so it all worked out. Now I’m at home trying to finish a paper and all the rest of the crap that will be due soon. I just can’t help but procrastinate a little bit more. Have a nice night!

Why do the holidays always make you think of the ones you love that slipped away?

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble Gobble

Classes are now done until next Monday! Let’s see last night, after we lost our playoff flag football game, we all decided to drink a bunch. It was me, Liam, Nick, Pete, Dan D., and Nick. Most of the others played poker, but I just watched, since I don’t have the money for that. We had a great time, drinking anything and everything we could get our hands on. I think I actually saw Liam drinking on a Colt 45. :) So we get all banged up. Then Brad, Kelly, Chad and some other dude came by. I don’t think those guys cared for anyone but Brad, and I was pretty much in agreement with them. The one dude just kept begging for beer, and we didn’t have any. It was just annoying, and I don’t even live there. Anyways, we listened to Earlham, and passed out. Today I only had one class, Prob & Stats. It went easy enough, but the best part was listening to Mack’s stories from last night. What a crazy life those rugby players live. So I’m at work now, and hopefully I’ll leave soon. I think tonight since all my boys are back in town, we are going to hit up Mt. Adams. It should be fun hanging with them all again. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if I forget to write in here again. Peace Out!

Dammit, I’m really bad about updating this thing. Well school has been crazy, and I didn’t do much last week that was too exciting, cause of the homework and the fact that I am broke already this month. The weekend was something else though. On friday I left right after school with Fighty and Liam to go up to Columbus. We arrived around 5 at Joe Vedder’s with tons of beer. We ended up getting 60 beers for 30 bucks for like 7 or 8 of us. Shortly after being up there, duckfood took the stage playing a killer set. Watch out for a live recording in the future. Then freebase attempted to play and got lost in their own songs. :) We then just had a big jam session with lots of funny songs and tons of beer. Eventually it was time to head to the Red Wanting Blue show. It was a great show, full with lots of hotties. There are some pictures out there: here and here. Immediately after the show, we attempted to get everyone (especially the girls) over to the Ordinary Peoples show that was going on across the street. We tried our hardest but only got like 15 people over there. It was still a good time, and we even got to guest on “Suitcase.” After that we went to the bar in the Union, where karaoke was going on at. I of course wa Jay s forced into singing “Faith” andaka Big Kraut was singing his lungs off with some sista. :) After the signing was done, Wacko convinced us all to go to Spot Bar. It was actually a pretty cool dance club, and lots of people were getting in free. Eventually the night on the streets ended and we all wound up back at Joe’s. Of course no one could go to bed right away, so we beat the crap out of Liam a little bit more, and then called it a night. The next day, we headed back home, after eating at the “better” Skyline that just opened at OSU. I don’t think it was that much better, still not even close to Cincy’s. But then we decided to drink a bunch more before the Elder vs. St. X. football game for the regional championship. Just like last week, the hype was all there. 35,000+ people showed up at UC’s Nippert Stadium to watch this battle. Unfortunately the Elder Panthers lost, but it was a great and exciting game. After that we ended up drinking a bunch more that night and watched Liam turn into the angriest drunk alive. He must have fought everyone that night. Nothing too out of the ordinary for the rest of this night. I guess not much else has happened since then, and I’m about to go to Murphy’s tonight since I couldn’t do so last night…

Well once again I am slacking with this thing. Let’s see since last monday, I went to class a bunch, of course hit up the Old Saloon on Wednesday, and had a very cool weekend. Me and fighty have a official name for our band now, “duckfood.” Check out our messageboard, a webpage will be in the works sometime. Now about the extended weekend we had (god bless the veterans): It started with a friday night consisting of drinking at Liam and Callsen’s place , going to the Swim concert, and then drinking a bunch more. That was a cool night, then on Saturday I woke up and decided to check out the record setting high school game at Paul Brown Stadium. St. X played Princeton and Elder played Colerain. I can’t believe 47,000+ people showed up for this event. St. X and Elder both ended up winning, which made the GCL and me very happy. Ryan also owes me 10 bucks now, cause he was all about the losers of the GMC. :) Sunday, we all drank at the same house in Clifton then hit up some parties around campus. It was a fun night, full of girls making out, beer pong, flip cup, etc. Last night was nothing special, just another day at Murphy’s. I’m in lab right now, where I should be coding, but my hunger is stopping me. It’s lunch time, I’ll try and write more this week…

Damn, it’s been a while since I came here. I guess that means I’ve been staying busy, which is definitely a good thing. Last week was pretty uneventful, same bars same days just another week. I do remember staying up until 5:30 on yet another night. This weekend Kelly, Evan, Ryan and I all traveled to Viriginia for some more OAR shows. We had to take off classes for Friday, so that we could get down there in time. We left Thursday at about 8 or so and ended up in Charlottesville around 2. Once we got in, Fighty decided that I had to see Charlottesville (DMB Town USA), so we took a little walk. We saw Starr Hill, which is where OAR was going to play the next night, and some music was playing outside. We walked down to Miller’s and the area called The Mall and after a little while walked backed past Starr Hill. The music was off this time. As it turns out Dave Matthews was in the bar that night, and I bet that we just barely missed him. Fighty was pissed off, but maybe some other day. We eventually went to bed around 4 and slept well. Woke up, explored Charlottesville, bought some new stickers for the car, talked to the band, drank a few at Miller’s, etc. The show was good that night, although I don’t remember too much. Joel wanted to kick me out, but he let it slide. The next day we went to Richmond, where the next show was. Weeba lives there, so that helped out with a free place to stay. We had some time to walk around the campus and enjoy the beauty of the campus and the girls. I had my first ever Yeungling, and I must admit it wasn’t bad, especially for $1. We eventually went to the show, where I apologized to Joel. This concert was much more enjoyable, I didn’t drink as much, and the set was better. We had a great weekend. Lots of little conflicts and things, but I’m trying to forget about all that. This week hasn’t been too productive or entertaining so far. I’m done with class and I am eventually going to help Nicole with a webpage project. Oh yeah that reminds me, I got an ezboard private message from Amanda that said “hey…where are you?” I replied back, but nothing. Oh well, interesting times for sure…

2001-10-30

So yesterday I had some classes which were pretty uneventful. As I was walking to my car, I ran into Amanda’s old roommate Melissa. We talked a few minutes, and she let me know that I should come over to their new apartment sometime. I told her that I needed to help Nicole with a project, so that I would be over there sometime. It had been awhile since I saw her, and it was cool doing a little catching up. After that, I left and went home. Some good times were had on the OAR message board yesterday, when everyone was talking about our Nashville road trip, and actually people still are. I did lots of procrastinating, but eventually I did about an hour of homework. Shortly after that, it was time to head down to Clifton. I went and picked Kelly up and we went down to Fighty’s house for a little bit, and then over to Liam and Callsen’s place. We drank the rest of the Jager from the weekend, and had some more New Castles. Later on Kelly decided it was time to go to Murphy’s for some drinks and to meet up with Chad and others. It was a good time full with lots of drinks and lots of pool. As we left the bar, EJ and Danielle called me on my phone drunk as hell. I love those guys, and somehow I am supposed to convince them to go to Charlottesville. Then Kelly informed me that she was going to stay with Chad. I’m not sure why, but I really didn’t like that idea. She was wasted, and I was trying to talk to her, but it wasn’t working. I eventually just told her that I didn’t care, and she told me not to pretend like I don’t, and then I told her that she doesn’t care about me. I guess she took that last statement further than the way I meant it to be, cause she was crying. Eventually I left, and walked over towards my car. I decided that I really didn’t want to drive home, so I went back to Liam’s house. He was still awake listening to the Earlham VACO show, so I sat and enjoyed that with him. At this time, I also did some writing about all the stuff that happened outside of the bar, and just in my day to day activities. I may decide to share that somewhere. After chillin’ for a little bit, I crashed on their couch and woke up this morning to come to this lab class. Have a good one!

2001-10-29

Friday night, I went to Clifton after picking my friend Dan (Wacko for all the board peps) from the greyhound station. Kelly and I went to Murphy’s Pub with Brad and some others. It was fun, but we ended up staying a lot longer than I wanted to. Oh well, I was still able to get a good amount of sleep. So on Saturday, we went to my house and I packed up all my stuff for the road trip to Nashville. We had 11 people there: Me, Kelly, Ryan Fighty, Liam, Dan, Bob Tangus, Jenn Swoothie, Matt Milafalo and his roommate Matt, and then we met up with EJ and Danielle in Nashville. The trip down was easy and went by fast at 90 mph, until we hit the damn traffic. We sat in bumper to bumper traffic for over an hour. In that time, we managed to play a little football, see wacko fall while trying to catch a pass and rip his jeans, toss a tennis ball at each others cars, have some fun with people honking horns (especially the bus), and bump some 2Pac. We met up with the BAMA folks down at the venue, where we immediately picked up some tickets and talked to Marc for a bit. Then we went to the hotel, and soon learned that they screwed up and didn’t have my reservation in their computer. The lady working the desk was really nice and ending up hooking us up with one regular room and a suite for the price I was quoted at. We brought down a bottle of Jagermeister and Captains, and then bought 3 18 packs of Natty and 6 New Castles. So we got all checked in and I ended up paying 12 bucks for some valet guy to park my car. My one complaint about nashville, not enough parking. Then the fun began, Liam, Ryan and I pounded our New Castles along with the Jager. Then it was Natty time. Fighty and I did a little jamming, until he broke one of EJ’s guitar strings. We did manage to get a pretty good “In My Life” -> “Poker.” I also sang my version of “Faith” for everyone even without any music to help me along. So after a bunch of drinking, we manage to get everyone that was left in the rooms onto the street for the walk to the venue. Of course we had some fun walking to the place. Wacko was stealing flags from cars, and checking out the hot dog stand. :) We picked up some random guy named Scott on the side of the street and convinced him to go to the show. He used my pass to get in, and I still got it back! So we get in and listen to Llama some, drink a bunch more, and pass my cowboy hat all around to everyone, then the OAR show started. I was having a blast dancing around, talking to every and any girl I could find. Kelly didn’t like that too much, I think she was a little jealous but I made it up to her. I remember seeing Fighty sitting on a bar stool passed out for a little bit. I saw Wacko for most of the show, I think he was following me around taking pictures most of the time. I think I almost lost my hat to about 10 different girls, but somehow I still have that thing. The board was having a great time at the back of the place, dancing around like a bunch of fools. I remember hearing Marc thanking us for coming out, and saying something about coming down front. I can’t do that though, cause I need lots of space to dance. :) The show was a bunch of fun, and the crowd seemed to really enjoy it. After the show, I talked with the guys for a bit, and mentioned something about a broken guitar string on EJ’s guitar, and how we couldn’t play anymore. Rich tried to hook me up with a string, but it was the wrong one, so next thing I know Marc passed me a whole set. I don’t know much about guitars and all that, but I guess they are really nice strings. Thanks guys! We went out back where everyone was just hanging around. Wacko and the Matts stole the pumpkins that Llama had out there, but Joel soon busted one of them over Liam’s head. We were having a good time hanging out, but EJ and I soon realized that we wanted to go to the hillbilly bars. The girls were off somewhere so we just left with some of the others. Along this trip on the streets Dan and I try to steal a sign, but we almost got caught so I blamed it all on Dan and ran away. EJ and I hit up this place that was supposed to be the best bar in town. The only thing that I though was good, was the fiddle player in the band there. She was hot too! I remember hearing “Sweet Home Alabama” and EJ was actually singing along to it. That band finished up so we went into some other bar, where Pabst was the beer of choice. We had some of those and listened to another country band, complete with a stand up bass and a steel guitar. I ended up with a drumstick from that band, not sure how though. So all the bars close and we make our way back to the hotel. Along the way I was hitting that drum stick on anything I could find. The scaffolding I was playing towards the end was really cool, but then Kelly showed up and drug us back to the hotel. Kelly somehow managed to order some pizza, and I still have no clue the name of the place. We ate that drank a few more and passed out. Oh yeah but before passing out, I had to kick Liam’s drunk ass and try and push him under the sink. Somehow we also managed to break an ironing board. The trip ended very well though, and it was a ton of fun. Check out some of Dan’s pics, there are almost 300 of them. He took like 600 total, so I guess that isn’t that bad. Here’s a link.
