Well as usual I have been staying really busy with school and trying to keep my social life going strong. Wednesday I ended up at the Old Saloon, and surprisingly just about everyone that went there in the summer was there. It was a really good time, but I was still suffering from my cold. I think it was a cold, however now I am starting to wonder if maybe it’s my allergies coming back for the wonderful spring time. I guess I should start taking those Allegra pills of mine again.

Lately, Liam and all his roommates along with the typical people we party with have starting partying hard on thursday nights. So I went with them this past Thursday over to Jessica’s house (Nick’s girlfriend). It was a really good time full of drinking games and many funny moments. The only thing that kind of sucked was realizing that I still had to get up at 9 so that I could make it to my classes. Well somehow I pulled it off and made it to my 10. I skipped a few classes that day just because I felt pretty shitty from the combination of sickness/allergies and the beer from the night before. Overall, it was a really good time though.

Later on friday, I headed up to Miami U. with all my high school buddies. We crammed into Halp’s minivan and began drinking right away, well everyone besides Halp since he was driving. :) We make it to Miami after a few stops, and most of us were feeling really good. We hit a bar, and then got ready to see Red Wanting Blue play. At some point Ken and I decided that we were just going to kiss all kinds of girls on the cheek. Well little did we know (maybe he did) but we actually picked up some girls from doing this. These two girls followed us around for a good chunk of the night just making out with us whenever and wherever. I guess you can’t really complain about that. I really didn’t catch much of RWB’s set because of the girls and our desire to go to the bars to drink more. You couldn’t drink on the street, and that was my only real complaint. I ran into all kinds of people that I know, and met a very cool girl (Johnna) from the Red Wanting Blue message board. I had talked to her pretty frequently over IM and we had plans to meet up at the show. Yeah so somehow Ken and I lost these two girls so we just went on our mission to find more. :) We lost most of our friends, and ended up just staying up in Miami while the others went home. The band after RWB called The Ark Band really caught my attention. They are a reggae band that put on a great show. I will definitely have to check these guys out in the future. After that was over, we grabbed some food and wandered over to Bill’s house to crash. Luckily someone was there, even though Bill wasn’t, and he said that we could crash there.

So we woke up on Sat. and realized we needed to get a ride. Well I called home and my mom said she would come and get us, but in the end it was my dad who ended up doing it. Normally the drive is very short, but this day was graduation day, so the solo road that goes into town was full of traffic. I felt really bad, but I think he was just relaxing for the next days marathon anyway. So we finally do get home…

Later on that day I went down to Clifton to do some partying. We started partying at Liam’s of course, and after we felt good and ready went over to some dudes house to drink a few margaritas. They were strong but quite good. Definitely worth the trip there. After a few drinks we decided to walk up the street to Stratford for the big block party. Once we hit the street we see the hundreds and hundreds of people that were already there and a big couch fire in the middle of the road. At this point we walked up towards all the action but stood off to the side since we realized what was going to happen. The cops finally did show up and what resulted was another fire, beenbags and rubber bullets being fired by the cops, broken car windshields, tear gas, among many other things. Click here for a story written by the local newspaper. I finally made it out of all that mess and headed back to Liam’s house. I walked in to find fighty (the next proclaimed John Mayer ~diddy) playing some music for everyone there. He has been just going at it late night lately while drunk and doing really cool shit. So I grabbed the trusty bongos and we played some songs. Always a good time. Then we eventually turned some CD’s on and had our little dance party going on. People were taking clothes off and everyone was pounding some drinks. This all lasted till pretty late in the night, something like 4 or so. Eventually we went outside to chill out for a bit and then people started going to bed. A group of us decided that we should try and stay awake and go to breakfast a little later on. A girl by the name of Kate took a liking to me, and we devoted a good amount of this time wasting to making out. :) We were all doing really well staying awake, but the last I can remember is that it was 7:30 or so and I felt wide awake. Obviously I wasn’t caused I must have passed out right after that…

What a great weekend. The only thing I should have done was started working on my project for class earlier. I don’t think that we are even done with it now and it was due at midnight. Ah well, at least we should be done soon.

Have a great week everyone!!!!

2002-04-23

Damn I did it again. Well I guess I will try to remember all of what has happened…

So school has been keeping me extremely busy. I haven’t had much time for a social life in the past week. Nothing really big happened at the end of last week, so I’ll move on to the weekend:
Friday we all hung out over at Liam’s house and ended up hitting up a couple of parties. Nothing too big, but we all had a good time.
Saturday was Springfest down on campus. The day was a little bit overcast but it never rained, which is a good thing. I caught the end of Homunculous’ set and then headed over to the other stage to watch my boys Fate Hates Us play a 4 song set. I recorded it and I think it is the best one I have of them yet. After their show, we all chilled and listened to the other bands and drank a bunch of beer. I ended up staying at the place from 4 till around 11. I think I had quite a bit to drink and not enough food. We all went to some parties afterwards and had a great time. It was truly another pretty drunk weekend…

This week has once again been a very busy one. Today I spent like 4 hours in the library doing research, which is more time that I probably have ever spent there before. It has gotten cold out again and scared all the girls back into hibernation, but I think the weather is looking up for the next couple days. I was in a somewhat sad mood today, although I guess I am over it now. It is just that Amanda was in my dreams last night for the first time in awhile. I had a rough time trying to sleep and that probably put me into my bad mood for the rest of the day. I’m not sure what caused her to enter my head again, maybe it is because I have pretty much completely given up on Carissa and because of that I have nothing to take my mind off of it. I don’t think it is that though, cause I am about completely over her, I think it is just a coincidence. Yeah but I am pretty much done with Carissa, even before anything even started. I just don’t think it is worth any of my effort. Maybe I will be proven wrong in the future, but for now that is where I stand.

So tomorrow I’m going to Columbus to see John Mayer, and then Fate Hates Us after the Mayer show. It should be a great time. And then this weekend a group of us are traveling to Chicago to see 2 Dave Matthews Band shows. I haven’t seen one of these shows in quite some time, so I’m very excited. I hope everyone has a nice night, I’m about to get some extra sleep…

2002-04-16

So my brother requested a journal entry for tonight, I guess since he saw my away message that it was Carissa’s birthday. Sorry to disappoint you Tim, but nothing happened with that at all. It was a good night, great weather, beers flowing, but she is very much caught up with Danny. There really isn’t much I can do about it, and Kelly has told me that she is passing off our whole make out thing like it is my fault, when actually it was hers. Actually fault is such a bad word, since I guess it was apparent that we both wanted it, but she started it all and continued on with it. Well I have come to the point where I feel like it really isn’t worth my time or effort to try to work anything out with her. I’m not saying I wouldn’t do anything in the future, but right now it is just dumb. There are lots of fish out there. :)

So this weekend, I saw Fate Hates Us a couple times, and had a great time hanging out with those guys. I didn’t get to sing Poker with them this time, cause the cops broke up the party before we could get around to it. I tell you what though, these guys are great. I enjoy seeing them anytime. Friday, I saw them in Columbus, one of my favorite cities to visit. Every time I go to that place, I get fucked up, as does everyone else. Not much else to really say about that. Saturday they played the same house in Clifton. It was a wonderful time, and I wish it could have only lasted longer. Oh well shit happens I guess. That sums up my weekend, it was a drunk one, but tons of fun!

Today was a beautiful day. Campus was full of tons of great scenery, probably the best I have seen since I started school. The bar tonight was just a perfect way to end the day. I’m off to bed, cause I’m damn tired. Night all!!!

2002-04-02

It’s been a little while since I updated this thing, but I’m still doing better than I usually do. This past weekend was a great time…

Friday, pretty much everyone that I talk to on a frequent basis was over at Liam’s house for a party. Fighty, Pete and I played some songs and we even had some guesting from some of the many guitar players that were in the crowd. It was a great time, and I think everyone enjoyed that. Liam might have enjoyed his birthday a little too much though. :) He broke some glasses, puked at least once, and even passed out with my cell in his pocked. I was lost without that thing, so I spent a good chunk of the night trying to find it. I ended up crashing at Chad & Dan’s ‘camping out’ with Kelly. Overall it was a great night, and I finally got my phone back the next day.

Saturday, all the high school boys went over to Ken’s for some drinking and such. We all had a great time, maybe too much of a good time. :) I don’t even remember passing out on the couch. Nothing big really happened, although I did get to see Ken’s sister Amy again. I grew up in high school spending much time over at Ken’s parents house, so she was almost like a little sister to me too. Karen (Bryan’s ex) and her friend Kate came up from Tennessee, and that was good seeing them again.

Sunday was easter, so happy belated easter! I went to grandma’s house to hear everyone talk about the vacation my cousins and I took for spring break. It was fun to hear what some people had to say.

This week of school has been keeping me really busy. I don’t think I have made it home for dinner in quite a few days. I’m always either in class, working on classwork, or trying to have a social life which can be hard with a demanding schedule. I honestly haven’t been going out a bunch though just to hang out with Carissa. I have the best of times with her, and I think things kind of do look up for us. The only problem is that her and Dan are still dating or whatever, and she wants to try to work that out I guess. I’m not really sure what that means, but that is what Kelly told me. I guess for the time being, I will just keep hanging out and having a good time, as long as no one feels like I am stepping on their toes. It is kind of an awkward situation, but so many people think we are much better together than her and Dan. Ah well, not much I can really do about it now, although I think we may go to dinner on Thursday or something. I would just like to spend a little bit of time with her alone, when she isn’t working or something, so that we have time to just talk and have some fun. If that does happen, I’ll be sure to write about it here.

Tomorrow is Old Saloon night and apparently everyone is going to hit it up this week. That should be fun to get everyone back together again The concert schedule is starting to get packed as well. About time!

Take care everyone…

Yeah so I am back in school once again for this quarter. It has already been kicking my ass a bit. One of my classes seems to have a never ending supply of homework to do. This has really slowed me down too much though. I’ve been heading out to the bars pretty frequently with Jon, Kelly, Carissa, Chad & Dan, Brad, and sometimes other high school friends of mine. Jeff is in town for spring break, so it is always fun to hang out with him. My brother is also home from break, although I rarely see him cause I’m always out. I see him when I come home at night and when I leave in the morning in the same position, sleeping on the couch. :) Not much else to say really, except I feel like I always become the friend type to every girl I meet, and I can’t quite figure out why…

2002-03-05

Thursday. Hmm… I can’t really remember what I did. All I know is that I need to update my list of shows that I have seen before I forget them all. That will have to come sometime later.

Friday, the typical crew went up to Columbus for a Virginia Coalition and Llama show. We met up at Joe Vedder’s place to sit around, drink some beers, and just catch up on old times. Anne and a friend decided to go to the show with us, so they met us up at Joe’s and after awhile we all found rides to the place, Little Brothers. Carrie and Mike were up at the show, and it is always a blast to hang out and talk to them. Carrie just loves to hear my stories about my life. :) Her brother Dave was at the show as well, so I finally got to meet him. We were all having a great time, and some of us got really banged up. I know I was one of those people, and Liam even said that I drank more beers than minutes I talked to Anne. I felt bad about that, but I talked to her and she didn’t really seem to mind. I was just the one that invited her to the show, and I guess I should have done a little better there. In the end though, she loved VACO and wants to see them again. We got some pizzas and passed out eventually.

Saturday, not much went on besides some drinking over at Liam’s place. Always a fun time though.

Sunday we woke up early because of the bearcats game against Memphis. We had some beers and then headed over to the game. We had almost a complete row of people and it was a very good time. We were feeling pretty good because most people didn’t eat anything and just pounded a few beers. The game was sweet. All the way down to the wire, and then an overtime victory for the cats. What a game! After that we kind of chilled out for a bit, ate some food, etc. then went over the VACO/Llama show at Top Cat’s later that night. As usual the crowd was small, but what can you expect from cincy. The shows were both really good, and I was more than happy to pay the 8 bucks to get in although Ben Brown of Llama said he would put me on the list. I guess Top Cat’s didn’t have a list or something, but it really didn’t matter to me. I was very impressed as usual by both bands…

Yesterday, another exciting day of work! :) Later on, fighty and I hit up Montgomery Inn for the Bob Huggins radio show. Man is that guy funny, especially when off the air. Then I “helped” fighty with his programming homework and went home.

I guess tonight, Lutz is trying to convince a group of girls to go to the movies with us. I’ll see how well he does. :)

2001-12-03

Dammit, I did it again. Seems to be I can only remember to do this when I’m at work. Well last week was the final week of classes, and now it’s finals week. I know at one point, I talked to Amanda very shortly after writing my last journal entry. It went really well, and I’m happy about that. I don’t know if she still wants to try and be my friend, but I really do want to be hers. The conversation went more along friendly lines that we have before, like we weren’t acting like ex’s anymore. We were just like two old friends catching up on things. I really enjoyed that and I hoped she did too, cause I don’t want her out of my life ever. If you are reading this, please give us a chance at being friends. :) I didn’t go out and party last week as much as I normally do, for a few reasons. I was sick for a couple days, I had no money at all, and I was busy with school work. I still have a project to finish and a paper for history class, both of these being due this wednesday. Last wednesday I did get to see Woodside Quinn again. That was a ton of fun, and great to talk to those guys again. They appear to be doing great and will be playing at Bogart’s next week sometime. Nothing else too exciting for that week, except for I dyed my hair. I guess the official term was that I highlighted the tips, but I think it’s pretty cool looking. I’ll have to get some pictures up somewhere soon. The weekend was a blast. I was supposed to go to our annual ITI work Christmas party. I only really had one choice for a date at this point, but in the end she ended up not showing up on time. So I just skipped the party and went to some Clifton parties with Liam, Fighty, Nick, and all those guys. We ended up playing flip cup for most of the night, and then late night I went to Murphy’s on the condition that all my drinks were payed for. I showed up and knew tons of people at the bar. Guys from high school, Scott Caparso, Amanda’s roommates from sophomore year, etc. It was a great time, and really cool to see these people again. I ended up very drunk by the time we left, so I just somehow made it to Liam’s house where I passed out on the couch. The next morning, we decided to get up early (some of us still feeling the effects from the night before) and drink a few before going to the UC football game. That was a blowout, with UC leading 21-0 at the end of the first. We stuck around, to watch all the drunks at the game, including my buddies from class. After that was about over, we headed to a free Oval Opus concert, and chilled until it was time for the UC basketball game. This was a fun time as well, and UC ended up pulling out the victory. This day wasn’t close to being over, so we headed over to Bogart’s to try to get into the Ordinary Peoples / Afroman show for free. Steve and Ari (from OP) could not help us out with getting in, but they gave us some promotional stuff for their show coming up at the Mad Frog. So with all that stuff in hand, we headed to Liam’s house. Everyone there was getting ready to go to some party, so we tagged along with them. The place was packed, and kind of annoying, but then this band called Fate Hates Us start playing. They played a bunch of really cool covers and their drummer was something else. Fighty said he was the second best drummer he has ever seen, behind Carter Beauford. I would have to agree with that comment. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay for them to finish their set, but we were going to Miami to see Red Wanting Blue. This was like the 3rd or 4th time we had seen them there, and it was just as good, probably better than the ones before. They just sounded good. After that show, we went home, ate and drank a little and passed out around 5 or so. Then yesterday, I just attempted to study and write shit, with minimal success. Then we had a hockey game, and then it was bed time. That brings me to here, with the thought that I should write here more often. Have a good one..

2001-11-21

Classes are now done until next Monday! Let’s see last night, after we lost our playoff flag football game, we all decided to drink a bunch. It was me, Liam, Nick, Pete, Dan D., and Nick. Most of the others played poker, but I just watched, since I don’t have the money for that. We had a great time, drinking anything and everything we could get our hands on. I think I actually saw Liam drinking on a Colt 45. :) So we get all banged up. Then Brad, Kelly, Chad and some other dude came by. I don’t think those guys cared for anyone but Brad, and I was pretty much in agreement with them. The one dude just kept begging for beer, and we didn’t have any. It was just annoying, and I don’t even live there. Anyways, we listened to Earlham, and passed out. Today I only had one class, Prob & Stats. It went easy enough, but the best part was listening to Mack’s stories from last night. What a crazy life those rugby players live. So I’m at work now, and hopefully I’ll leave soon. I think tonight since all my boys are back in town, we are going to hit up Mt. Adams. It should be fun hanging with them all again. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if I forget to write in here again. Peace Out!

2001-11-19

Dammit, I’m really bad about updating this thing. Well school has been crazy, and I didn’t do much last week that was too exciting, cause of the homework and the fact that I am broke already this month. The weekend was something else though. On friday I left right after school with Fighty and Liam to go up to Columbus. We arrived around 5 at Joe Vedder’s with tons of beer. We ended up getting 60 beers for 30 bucks for like 7 or 8 of us. Shortly after being up there, duckfood took the stage playing a killer set. Watch out for a live recording in the future. Then freebase attempted to play and got lost in their own songs. :) We then just had a big jam session with lots of funny songs and tons of beer. Eventually it was time to head to the Red Wanting Blue show. It was a great show, full with lots of hotties. There are some pictures out there: here and here. Immediately after the show, we attempted to get everyone (especially the girls) over to the Ordinary Peoples show that was going on across the street. We tried our hardest but only got like 15 people over there. It was still a good time, and we even got to guest on “Suitcase.” After that we went to the bar in the Union, where karaoke was going on at. I of course wa Jay s forced into singing “Faith” andaka Big Kraut was singing his lungs off with some sista. :) After the signing was done, Wacko convinced us all to go to Spot Bar. It was actually a pretty cool dance club, and lots of people were getting in free. Eventually the night on the streets ended and we all wound up back at Joe’s. Of course no one could go to bed right away, so we beat the crap out of Liam a little bit more, and then called it a night. The next day, we headed back home, after eating at the “better” Skyline that just opened at OSU. I don’t think it was that much better, still not even close to Cincy’s. But then we decided to drink a bunch more before the Elder vs. St. X. football game for the regional championship. Just like last week, the hype was all there. 35,000+ people showed up at UC’s Nippert Stadium to watch this battle. Unfortunately the Elder Panthers lost, but it was a great and exciting game. After that we ended up drinking a bunch more that night and watched Liam turn into the angriest drunk alive. He must have fought everyone that night. Nothing too out of the ordinary for the rest of this night. I guess not much else has happened since then, and I’m about to go to Murphy’s tonight since I couldn’t do so last night…

2001-11-06

Damn, it’s been a while since I came here. I guess that means I’ve been staying busy, which is definitely a good thing. Last week was pretty uneventful, same bars same days just another week. I do remember staying up until 5:30 on yet another night. This weekend Kelly, Evan, Ryan and I all traveled to Viriginia for some more OAR shows. We had to take off classes for Friday, so that we could get down there in time. We left Thursday at about 8 or so and ended up in Charlottesville around 2. Once we got in, Fighty decided that I had to see Charlottesville (DMB Town USA), so we took a little walk. We saw Starr Hill, which is where OAR was going to play the next night, and some music was playing outside. We walked down to Miller’s and the area called The Mall and after a little while walked backed past Starr Hill. The music was off this time. As it turns out Dave Matthews was in the bar that night, and I bet that we just barely missed him. Fighty was pissed off, but maybe some other day. We eventually went to bed around 4 and slept well. Woke up, explored Charlottesville, bought some new stickers for the car, talked to the band, drank a few at Miller’s, etc. The show was good that night, although I don’t remember too much. Joel wanted to kick me out, but he let it slide. The next day we went to Richmond, where the next show was. Weeba lives there, so that helped out with a free place to stay. We had some time to walk around the campus and enjoy the beauty of the campus and the girls. I had my first ever Yeungling, and I must admit it wasn’t bad, especially for $1. We eventually went to the show, where I apologized to Joel. This concert was much more enjoyable, I didn’t drink as much, and the set was better. We had a great weekend. Lots of little conflicts and things, but I’m trying to forget about all that. This week hasn’t been too productive or entertaining so far. I’m done with class and I am eventually going to help Nicole with a webpage project. Oh yeah that reminds me, I got an ezboard private message from Amanda that said “hey…where are you?” I replied back, but nothing. Oh well, interesting times for sure…
