Busy day at work. All I can think about is a trip to Alaska that we are going to take later this summer. I have a ton of miles with Frontier, so we used some to get round trip tickets to Anchorage. Seats were already filling up, so I made sure we got the ones we wanted. We’ll spend a little over a week there and in surrounding areas, mostly in those other areas. The trip happens to coincide with our one year wedding anniversary, so hopefully this is the start to a cool trend each year. As always I’m open to suggestions, but my planning has already begun. So far I’m thinking Denali National Park, Seward and Kenai Fjords N.P., and Homer, with different modes of transportation thrown in: train, boat, car.

Ed, I ventured up to Alaska years ago when I was young and footloose. I would definitely recommend Denali and the surrouding areas. One thing to keep in mind, I dont know if you’re thinking of camping anywhere but if you do be aware that the nights are actually pretty bright, like you have to wear freakin’ sunglasses to go to bed. You’ll be out at 1am and it will still be dusk out … Also there are f*cking bears everywhere !!! … Outside KMart, Costco, Starbucks, etc. …. They roam around like squirrels … And everyone carries around riffles … EVERYONE !!! … Store clerks, the mayor, the cook at Dennys, cab drivers … So dont be pissing anyone off up there … Have fun …

Todd, thanks for all the advice. We won’t be camping, unless I can convince Kim to give it another try. She’s mighty afraid of those bears.
