Just as I get all settled into spring time mode, it snows in Denver once again yesterday. I was hoping that it was all behind us now that we are in the middle of April, but I guess mother nature had other plans. So all of the flowers out back are looking a little droopy this morning, especially the daffodils, which were nearly in full bloom. The tulips just started blooming so I’m holding out hope for them. I don’t know what’s going to happen to the daffodils though, but I don’t think there is anything I could do or could have done.

This huge change in temperature must have played with my sinuses too. We were in the 80s just a few days ago, and then yesterday it was freezing out with snow falling. My nose just wasn’t sure what was going on. So I decided to hang out at home today and work remotely. That’s one benefit to my condition. And guess what, I’m feeling better already! And hopefully I can convince work to let me split my time between the office and home, working about half my time in each. We’ll see, that’s my most recent proposal to my boss as of today.

Don’t worry about the flowers. The ground is warm enough for them to make it. We had snow last weekend and mom’s look better now then before. It will warm back up and they will look great. You need to take some pictures of your spring flowers. Are you picking up Donette and Phil or did they rent a car?
Are you guys going to Breckenridge for the weekend to get in some last minute skiing before everything closes for the season?
Enjoy the company and take pictures of the yard when you get a chance.

Hey Ronda! I should probably just email you for flower advice, but hopefully others can take advantage of your advice from the blog. I think some of the daffodil blooms are done, should I just pop them off the stem or leave them? This isn’t the first snow we’ve had since they started blooming, probably the 3rd or 4th time actually. I checked on the tulips and they look fine, only a few of them have bloomed so far. I’ll get some pictures soon.

I think the visitors are hitching a ride with Kim who is flying back from Iowa today. We are going up to Breckenridge, but not until Saturday. We should have a really fun weekend!

I just put a bunch of daffodil pictures on my flicker page! I have some really pretty ones this year. I always just let them die off naturally. I’ve heard that the bulbs needs all the nutrients from the flower. Once they are dead you can pull them out very easily. What do you do Ronda?

Leave the daffodil alone for awhile. when the Tulips are done blooming and the leaves are starting to look dry and brown then go in and cut the Daffodil and Tulip leaves off. If you do it to soon they will not get the nourishment they need for next season. How are the house plants doing since we are talking plants? Donette’s ready to come up for a visit. I’m taking care of the Gabe. I love Breckenridge so I know you guys will have a great time.Go over to the Brewery and have a drink for me. Have you guys down to the Martini Bar downtown yet? Very nice place to go have drinks and listen to live music. Just a thought…

Okay, I’ll leave everything be for awhile. Hopefully after a few days of Colorado sunshine everything will be back to normal. Thanks for all the advice.

House plants are doing very well. The peace lily keeps popping up more white flowers. And I think there are three other pots still going around the house. The big plant that your office sent to us is back to doing really well. Leaves are only growing out of the top, so it looks a little funny but it may fill in sometime.

I’m sure we’ll hit the brewery. I don’t think we’ve been to the Martini Bar though, I’ll have to look into that. Kim just called from the airport and is waiting for their flight to get in.
