After several visits to the Wynkoop Brewery (1536 Wynkoop St), I must say that I am overly unimpressed. Typically a brewpub is right up my alley, but this particular restaurant doesn’t do it for me. First of all, their beers are very average. I’ve sampled a pretty wide variety of their offerings, and I don’t think I’d rank any of them above a seven. I do enjoy some of their food, but their menu is very short and limited. The appetizers are probably the highlight of the menu, and there are only a few dinners that I would (or have had) multiple times. I would much rather head down the street to the Breckenridge Brewery, if searching for a downtown brewpub.

Man, I’m glad I don’t run a brewery in Denver – what do you think a Natural Light would rank on your scale?
Probably a 3?
I think that Porter I had at Breckenridge was a 8.5. Woulda been a 10 if I had some ribs to go with it at the Breckenridge BBQ though.
Vanilla Porter? I think that’s what you had. Good brew.
Yeah, it was vanilla. Whew. I had it stuck in my head that it was strawberry, and I was hoping I was wrong.
Is vanilla porter a dark or light beer? sounds like something I would like…
Very dark. Almost a meal in a glass. The one at Breckenridge had a lot of vanilla flavor in it, it was GOOD. Much better than Amy’s Natty Light!
I don’t know if you’d like a Porter, mom. There are a ton of other brews at Breck that you’d enjoy though.
I don’t like dark beers typically… I’m sure I could find a good blueberry or raspberry beer
