For those of you who wanted some new tunes, here is your chance. I finally got around to cutting up the recording I made of MER‘s performance at Pig-Fest. Unfortunately it’s only the second set since I forgot to get setup before he started playing, but it does include the sing-along classic Friends In Low Places as performed by all of Pig-Fest. There are loads of good cover songs in this set and a few really good original MER songs.

I’ve uploaded the performance to archive.org where you can download the whole concert or if you prefer single files. Better yet, you can stream the entire performance using the flash interface. After clicking the link above you should see a media player in the top right corner (you must have flash installed). Just click on the first track and enjoy. I have become addicted to the streaming player while at work. I have even been going back to past recordings that I’ve uploaded to be sure that they are streaming. Be sure to look around the Live Music Archive. There are over 37,000 different recordings uploaded there.

SO. I have to be in Lee’s Summit until 5 tomorrow. I’m going to try to stop by pre-concert, but the deciding factor will be whether the camp physicals I’m doing are in nice climate controlled AC or outside. What’s the fastest way to get from Lee’s Summit to your place? And what can I bring, just beer or munchies?

  2. Phil says:

Did you get The Man’s vulgar rant on there too, like a little outtake at the end?

  3. edpaffjr says:

Courtney, the route I take going home from Lee’s Summit is 470 West to 71 North to Brush Creek Blvd / Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. Take a left at the first light and that will take you to the plaza. I doubt you’ll need to bring beer, unless you are picky. We may have a slight change of plans and end up meeting everyone down at the River Market Brewery. I’ll let you know one way or another.

Phil, the events at the end of the night were left off for legal reasons. The sing-along makes a great ending to the show, I think.

  4. Phil says:

Cool I’m gonna download it when I get home, don’t want to set off any alarms here…

  5. edpaffjr says:

It’s not really for legal reasons. It sounded just like any other loud crowd sounds. And it’s almost impossible to pick out any one voice, except for my mom’s. Definitely download the show, although you should be able to stream it while at work. No?

  6. Phil says:

Yeah so far I can stream music here. Not able to detail that for legal reasons either…

  7. Courtney says:

    Thanks Ed!

Yeah if you guys switch to the brewery just give me a call and I’ll show up for a few brews before the show. Otherwise, I’ll plan on heading to your place and actually getting to see the new house.

Will do. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
