Hasidic Reggae Superstar

I’ve added a track from Matisyahu to the song of the moment section, download “King Without A Crown.” He played one of my favorite sets while at Wakarusa. I would definitely recommend seeing him if you get the chance, it was one of the most interesting shows I’ve seen based purely on looks. Based on sound, it was an incredible show that I’m glad to have taped. If you want a little taste of the show, check out this performance from the Jimmy Kimmel show. I’ll try and get some other tracks up soon from some other new favorites of mine at Wakarusa.

Kim went and got new Missouri license plates for the car yesterday. Hopefully no one steals our tabs, although I’ve yet to put the plates on. Perhaps I’ll do that tonight. We also have some more cleaning up to do from camping and a few things we want to put up on eBay.

Mr. A-Z

Not much at all has been going on here. Last night was my last night of hockey for a few weeks. They are melting the ice to do repairs to the boards and stuff. I’m not sure how many days a week I’m going to play once they reopen. I’ve been thinking about playing less now that it is summer, but we’ll see.

I’m about to book our flights to New Orleans for The Rock Boat. I’m so excited, I finally get a chance to visit the city of New Orleans. I’m sure it will not be a disappointment. I wish we could spend a couple of days there, but we will really only get one full day there. My vacation days are just about all accounted for, and this is with no days off after September. I figure I should save at least one date for the end of the year.

With the lack of exciting things to write about, I’ve added a new song of the moment, download “Wordplay.” This one is from Mr. Jason Mraz. I haven’t really listened to any of his music by choice in quite some time. I really figured that his follow up to Waiting For My Rocket To Come would have come much sooner. There was that live release that was put out, but I never listened to it all that much. Finally though, Mr. A-Z will be out on July 26th.

Dream Girl, Stand Up

I forgot to mention this earlier, but DMB’s new CD has leaked and I’ve added another track to the song of the moment pages. Be sure to download “Dream Girl.” Enjoy!

Edit: I just realized that I had an error when attempting to download files that prevented everyone from doing so. I have fixed that and you should be able to download files without a problem. Please leave comments if you come across anything else.

I type 101 words a minute but it’s in my own language.

Yesterday rumors were flying around that comedian Mitch Hedberg died at the age of 37 and I guess it is true. The story still hasn’t hit most of the major news sites, but according to his spokesperson it is true. I did have the opportunity to see him once before this tragic event. He was by far one of the funniest guys I have ever seen. RIP Mitch…

I have added a new “song” of the moment from Mitch. Download “This CD Is In Stores.”

“I’m sick of following my dreams. I’m just going to ask them where they’re going and hook up with them later.”

I think we are going to head to a Shaking Tree show tonight. Not much else planned for the weekend yet. Kim leaves on Sunday for San Diego, I cannot believe our vacation is here already!

Bar Now Open

Dinner last night was awesome! As I mentioned yesterday, we went to a place called Copa Room, which isn’t too far from our place. I’m still shocked that they do not have a website, perhaps we should contact them about that. Anyway, the food was excellent as was the entertainment. Shortly after we arrived, a guy began singing Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin tunes, and he did so very well. Kim got the whole place to sing happy birthday, and we even got a free desert. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant…

Before dinner I opened my gifts from Kim. Since we moved into the new apartment I have been saying that I want to have a fully stocked bar. We’ll Kim definitely brought me way closer to that goal. She got us loads of the essential liquors and mixers, along with a new set of bar tools and a set of martini, pilsner and wine glasses. Oh yeah, she also bought me Playboy, that is Playboy: Bartender’s Guide. I cannot wait to have some people over so we can enjoy all of this! Until then, I’m sure Kim and I will enjoy it as well. :)

I’ve added a new song of the moment, this time from the John Butler Trio. They are from Australia and have had huge success in their native country. They are now spreading their popularity to the US, releasing their first official US release titled Sunrise Over Sea. Download “Zebra,” one of my favorites!

DMB – Stand Up

If you don’t already know, and I’m sure many of you do not, DMB is going to be releasing a new CD on May 10 called Stand Up. The first single titled “American Baby” was played via America Online last night, and I have added it as the current song of the moment. I haven’t given it too many listens, but it doesn’t sound too bad, check it out for yourself. Hopefully this does not turn into another Everyday that this song kind of reminds me of. What am I saying? I’m sure it will be a great disc that will not disappoint!

Edit: I just wanted to clear up the big mistake I made earlier. The new song is called “American Baby.”

It Was… Tanner Walle

Last night I went to my first show in almost a month with Kim and Amanda. Tanner Walle played over at O’Dowd’s for about an hour or so. It was an acoustic show with Mike. He finally got copies of his new CD, and I finally have one in my hand right now. As I mentioned before it’s a solid disc, and I recommend picking one up! I’ve added a new song of the moment from the CD titled “Madeline.”

My mom has her pictures from their trip online already. There are over 100, so it could take a little time to get through them all. I think I only took like 20 pictures and I don’t even have them up yet. Must be nice not having to work yesterday. :)

Welcome To Kansas City

Well the day has finally arrived, my family is taking their first trip to KC! We will be picking them up after work tonight and they will be here until Sunday night. Hopefully we can show them a good time…

Lots of music type news for today:
Tanner Walle has a new website up, unfortunately it isn’t a trustED design project. You can preview all of the tracks from the new CD and even buy a copy if you so desire. I recommend at least loading up the audio player and listening to the three full tracks! I also have one of the tracks in my song of the moment section, which is in need of some updates. I’ll try and get another song of his up there sometime soon, but for now download “It Was.”

I recored Marc Broussard’s performance on the Jimmy Kimmel show earlier in the week. You can now download his performance of “Home” live on the show, enjoy! Oh yeah, if you can’t get it to play you probably do not have the proper MPEG-2 Codec, go here to download it and then it should work just fine…

O.A.R. recorded a music video with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and there are now excerpts from the video on this site website. It looks pretty cheesy, but maybe I need to see the whole thing. Either way, it is great publicity for the band!

New Workout Time

Starting this morning Kim and I are going to be heading to the gym before work. I’ve thought about trying to do this many times before and the last straw occurred last night. We went to the gym at our normal time (between 5:00 and 5:30) after work, and there were no available treadmills, even the ellipticals were all taken. We eventually got on a couple of the ellipticals, but the treadmills never really opened up. I thought the fad of everyone working out would be ending with their short lived new years resolutions but apparently it’s time for people to do things for Lent. Anyway, it was decided that we would start morning workouts. I think we are going to try to go everyday too. We’ll run 3 days a week and do some lifting the other 2 days. We woke up at 5:30ish this morning and were able to get to work before 8:00 still. Before today, we were getting up at 6:00, so there really isn’t that big of a change except for we will now have extra free time after work. We can go to all the happy hours we want and eat dinner as early as we want. I haven’t found any downsides to this new plan yet, but only time will tell…

I am finally putting a new song of the moment on my site. Sorry for the huge delay, but we’ve been busy. One CD that I haven’t stopped listening too in quite some time is the new Ray LaMontagne disc, Trouble. It is mellow disc, but the amazing part is this guys voice. I highly recommend picking up the CD or at least downloading my new song of the moment. The song is “How Come” from a demo disc, which is slightly different from the version on the CD. Check it out!

2004-02-14

I dropped Kim off at the airport at 6:30 this morning. Barf!
She is meeting up with her family in North Carolina, then working in Cincinnati all next week. I’m a bachelor once again. ;)

I’ve just been trying to clean up around the house so far today. I think that I am going to Warrensburg, MO to see a Pomeroy show tonight. I haven’t seen them yet, and I’ve been wanting to. This place is only an hour or so away, so that isn’t too bad. The band is supposed to be very good live, kind of like a hip hop funk thing. I have an mp3 of their’s up as a song of the day, check it out!

In addition O.A.R. has teamed up with Robert Randolph to record the Zeppelin tune Fool In The Rain. Check it out here, and for those of you with iTunes, buy the track on Tuesday for $0.99!
