edpaffjr.comOver the weekend I also took my first trip to Garden of the Gods and Pike’s Peak. We met up with our family friends, the Hemmelgarns, who’s daughter Amy just recently moved to Colorado Springs with her husband Corey. After checking out some of the various rock formations in the Garden of the Gods, we took a drive over to the base of Pike’s Peak. We paid a discounted rate to get through the gates, since the trail to the top was only open 13 of the 19 miles. Though we didn’t get very high, very close to the tree line, there were still some great views along the way. I’ve added some pictures to my site, and my mom has a ton more on her flickr page.
