Another month goes by, and I get older and older. :) The only thing now is that I could possibly look like an old man now with my bald (aka shaved) head. You see, my roomies and I along with Lenny all started a bet towards the beginning of the year where we couldn’t cut our hair. If you did, you had to buy a case and the remaining “players” would drink all that beer. This would go all the way until the last person got a full case for themselves. We’ll, of course, Liam dropped out first. :) Then my hair started getting mullet like, and I was getting a little sick of it, but wanted to stay in the bet. Somehow, everyone else convinced me that if I were to bic my head, then I wouldn’t loose the bet. So we did that this past weekend in Champaign. Oh yeah speaking of Champaign, what a damn good time that was. The first night was pretty boring, but we made it fun by inventing yet another drinking game. This one was like the basketball game horse, but it involved launching beer cans across the room and into the hotel room trash can. Quite a fun game, and we even have some of it on tape. Actually we have a lot of good stuff on tape, including parts of the DMB show (the real reason we were in Champaign), along with some Hotel Cart Racing (think of jackass with the hotel baggage carts), etc. The show was really good, although no beer was sold. I got a pretty decent recording of the show, even though my seats were higher than I originally expected. Liam used Delaney’s video camera and got busted over and over. Although he did get a pretty sweet looking version of Grey Street on tape. I was a big fan of the Halloween tease, I just wish I could have heard the entire song. If anyone is into setlists like I am, check this one out.

So, it’s about Christmas time. I really need to start my shopping, but I always find better things to do. It isn’t that I don’t like to shop, I don’t like to shop around this time. Just the other week, Nick, Jessica, and I went to the mall just to eat Chick-fil-A, and there was a robbery of a jewelry store. Just what the mall needs during this time more craziness. I’ll get around to doing this sometime soon though!

School is over for the quarter. Another quarter down, and just 2 more to go. I think I did pretty good this quarter. I kicked the shit out of Symbolic Logic, and ended up getting the highest grade on the Automata final. I think those should turn out to be my best grades. Got a B in Linear Algebra and a C in Data Encoding. Only big mystery left is what we are gonna get in Senior Design. I hope it is good enough for me to get like a solid 3.2 or something. I’ll just have to wait and see. Now that school is about over, I guess I should start looking for jobs. The only thing is, I really don’t know what I want to do. Do I want to stay here in Cincinnati, or go elsewhere? Should I try out something like web design, or stick with C/Java programming? I guess those are something things to think about over break…

Well I’m gonna get back to doing some programming type work! Have a great holiday season everyone, and of course a drunken New Year!!!

Alright that was awful. I’m now an official slacker. I guess I have a somewhat good excuse, school has been keeping me busy. Life has been pretty good lately, even though very busy. I feel like I don’t ever have much time to be on my computer like I did before. Now, I get on to do my homework and update the site (usually in the morning now). I guess I just find this to be shocking, since I’m typically all about my computer. Well let’s see, anything big going on? Not really. I saw some kickass OAR shows at the Newport, and saw some other shows. Fate Hates Us has had some lineup changes but are still kicking ass. I can’t wait to see them again. I think my next show is Keller Williams. My rig has been treating me really well, I just dream for the day that I can afford a DAT. My (I mean Kraut’s) stupid MD likes to skip quite often.

That’s about it for music, as I said school is busy. Not too hard, although data encoding is rough. I’ve just been busy with “busy work” as I like to call it.

Oh yeah! We have a dog now! Duelie is his name and picking up chicks is his game. :) He is a spoiled dog, but is still in that crazy puppy stage. We bought him for $15 from some neighbors.

Ummm… that is about it for now. I’m gonna try and get back to my normal routine…

I am a huge ass slacker. Well, we did move into our house, and it is really coming together. It was hard work to clean the damn thing, but it all paid off in the end. My room is small, but I’m learning to deal with it, and it is enjoyable. I just wish I had a window in the damn thing so I could put a air conditioner in. The door to the balcony is very nice however.
I’ve been to a few shows, and have been taping them. My rig is coming together and I plan to just keep adding things to it as I go along.
I guess that is it for now, but I’ll try to get this thing going again like it used to be!

I awoke to a message from Mr. Aaron Liber telling me to write in here. I got bored at work, and then decided to do so.
So what has been going on? All kinds of things…
I have seen 5 DMB shows in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Indy. Tons of fun, and the shows have all been great. I think the Deer Creek shows were the best time I have had show wise in a long time. I don’t plan to ever miss those again! Only bad thing that happened is when a guy tricked me into letting him use my ticket stub to get a friend into the pavilion. He gave me a stub back, but it wasn’t mine… it was a damn lawn ticket. So once I left to grab another beer, I couldn’t get back in. That pissed me off out of principle, but I still had fun!
Let’s see what else…
Kate had a birthday on the 9th! She is no longer a teenager. :) We ended up going to a Lifehouse concert that day with Steph. Those two love their Lifehouse. I had a pretty good time, and thought about taping it (stealth), but then decided not too. Oh yeah, while we were at Kings Island, the show was there, I finally got to ride Son Of Beast. That is one cool coaster but it is quite rough. It is a wooden coaster that has a loop in it :o
I surprised Kate with a John Mayer show. That was fun, although the crowds there are getting less and less fun. I think she really enjoyed it though, since she loves that CD.
We picked rooms for our new house last night. I got the small room, which is the size of Liam’s now without the large closet he has so it looks bigger. This should be fun trying to fit all my stuff in there. :) I am really excited to be moving in though. Kate and all of them are moving in less than a week…
I guess I should have written before that I ended up buying mics for recording from Adam Elkins, I am just waiting for my first show to tape though!
I found out that tuition for next quarter is going to be a bit over 2300! This is getting ridiculous. I guess I should try and get that scholarship of mine back. They took it away since I didn’t turn in any service hours. This year should be really broke for me…
Hmm…..
I’m not sure there is anything else to add really. Have a good one, and I’ll try to update more…

After hearing July 8th over and over again from my brother, I finally decided it’s time to update this thingy. Well since the last time I went to Lake Cumberland with the family, the Hemmelgarn’s (family friends of ours), and Kate went along too! We had a ton of fun, almost ran out of beer, but we told Tim to chill out on the drinking. :) Tubing was the most popular lake activity as always, although a few people did some skiing. I’m glad Kate went along to cure some of my boredom time while there. I’ll admit the place is so much fun, but in between water sports you can often get a little bored.
Good news for me, I have new allergy medication. They got me on zyrtek or however you spell it and flonase. Flonase is interesting cause you snort it. :) But for just starting today, I feel really good, which is nice since I haven’t really been feeling 100% lately.
Concert wise I have seen these shows:
July For Kings (7/13)
Fate Hates Us (7/19)
Red Wanting Blue / Will Hoge / Ordinary Peoples / etc (7/21)
The reason I put those dates there is for when I have to go back and update the shows that I have seen section, whenever it is I get around to that. All these were good shows, but I was really glad to see FHU playing a show down in Cincy at Mad Frog and bringing in more at the door than the other 2 Cincinnati bands. Hopefully they come back soon.
Recently I have been trying to get some mics to do some recordings, but I am going to wait until a guy I know updates his rig and then buy his old at853’s which is what Sarnovsky started with. I look forward to taping FHU among any other bands that I possibly can. I have also been shopping for a guitar. Nothing too serious yet, I want to get in and play some at Mars to see what I like then search out the internet deals.
I think that about sums it up. Kate is on her way over, so I should get ready I guess…

Last week was nice cause I only had 3 days of work. Those went by pretty quickly, and I hung out with Kate a bunch! For the 4th Liam, Kate, Steph and I went up to Buckeye Lake for the Fate Hates Us show and some fireworks. The night was really cool, except for I got something in my eye that would not come out. My eye swelled up real bad, because I couldn’t leave it alone. At least that eventually went away but now my eyes are constantly watering, my allergies must have finally caught up to me. The show was sweet, something like 3 or 4 hours long. Friday we went drinking at Liam’s house for the first time in awhile and had fun as usual. Nothing really all too exciting, but fun regardless. Saturday Liam, Fighty, Callsen and I went to Cleveland for the Feeling Better Than Everfine festival show featuring OAR. The show was sweet. OAR played two incredible sets to start and finish off the day/night. Red Wanting Blue was fun to see again, and I really can’t wait to see another one of their shows. I was introduced to a band called Carbon Leaf that was really cool. Pretty jammy, and they had a mandolin player along with the occasional upright bass. I look forward to seeing them again in the future. We of course got drunk cause Weeba and Kraut were there. :) What a great time it was. Last night I relaxed with Kate at Lilo and Stitich, that new Disney movie. It was a fun one, and I tried to catch up on sleep last night. Oh well, a little tired now but I seem to always be anymore…

This weekend summed up in one line…
Pig-Fest IX
It was a great time once again. My family all got drunk and so did all my friends. I think the wiffle ball tourney completely ended this year for the first time, and Kate’s team almost won. Instead it was my brother and Liam’s team that took home the trophy. The fireworks were sweet, and my finger has a reminder that I was one of the two people shooting the damn things off. Fate Hates Us was sweet, and I got up and sang Poker with Pete playing some guitar on it. Then of course the Tea Bag Song chants broke out, so he played that one and we did some of Sail Away. Then let the band continue with their set until the cops came. That was another first for the roast. :) Kate made it back into town much earlier than I thought she would, so that was great! It is very nice to have her back with me. I went to bed at 2 AM I think but it felt much earlier than that. What a great night, and I think everyone else had a blast too…

Kate did call the next day, so everything is cool. :-) Let’s see, the VACO show was excellent as usual. I saw most of the Columbus folks out at the show and Pat even started to pay me back for all the beer I bought him in Pitt. Well, Pig-Fest is tomorrow and we still have quite a bit of stuff to take care of. I think I’m only going to work for a little bit more, then it’s time to go home and work my butt off. I am very excited for this years party though, I think it should be the best one yet. Guess it is time to take some more screen-shots so I can get out of here. Have a nice weekend, I know I will…

2002-06-26

Last night me and all the high school buddies went to the Poison concert down at Riverbend. Of course we drank a bunch before and during the concert, that is what we always do. So most of us got pretty drunk. :-) The show was sweet from what I can remember. They didn’t play much new stuff, and they just stuck with the old and good stuff. I was kind of worried about that before the show, but they love Cincy (sorry Kate). Oh yeah speaking of Kate, she is still on vacation, and she didn’t call me once yesterday. :-\ Kind of weird, cause we have talked at least once a day since I can remember. I hope everything is ok, and I guess I’ll just hope she calls today. Well that’s about it, we are off to the VACO show tonight in Columbus…

2002-06-24

Most of last week I spend working and hanging out with Kate. It was a good week, except for the working all the time part. :)

On Friday, I drove up to Liam’s parents house in Poland. He drove from there over to Pittsburgh for the Howie Day, OAR, and Clarks show. Pat aka peccer rode with us over to the show as well. We got there fairly early and just hung around the place since the line was too long for us to stand in. Eventually the doors were open and we ended up just jumping in the middle of the line and being probably in the first 100 or so people to get in the place. Liam quickly grabbed a spot close to the stage and I went for something to drink because it was too hot. I chose beer of course and headed back to where Liam was. Soon enough Howie came out and played a cool show. He was in one of those moods, like saying the songs were titled different than they were (“Think Pink” and “WDVE Rocks”) It was a fun show, I just wish I could see him headline sometime. :) OAR put on a good show as well. Pretty typical setlist for the time they were given but “Someone In The Road” was played. Always good to hear that one. The Clarks went on last and I really had a hard time getting into them. They are a decent band, but nothing special I guess. The day was hot and we kept drinking to stay cool. Liam ended up getting pretty buzzed, so we opted to just stay in Pittsburgh with Jenn and Heidi. Thanks to them for helping us out!

The next day we drove back to Liam’s parents. Got ready to go back to Pitt and then we left once again. We got there even earlier this day, so we did some touristy type of things, like riding the incline up the side of the city’s hill and looking out over everything. It was pretty cool. We then got some beers and went back to the car for some tailgating. Eventually we made it to the show, Joe was pretty drunk already. Liam went to the front again, and I tried to get a SBD patch for Howie. No luck with that though. Howie’s setlist was better than the day before, but not as funny. OAR’s set was typical again, but they had very few repeats and the played “King Of The Thing” another one that is always fun. Once again I didn’t pay much attention to the Clarks, and concentrated on my drinking. :) After the show we hit up Perkins then went back to Liam’s to crash for the night.

Sunday, we all woke up and remembered we needed to get to Columbus for the Balloon festival. I drove with Liam (along with all of his shit) and Pat. Balloon fest was hot but pretty cool, minus the mullets of course. We got to see Blues Traveler and that was pretty sweet. I realized I didn’t know many songs, but they still played really well. After that was the battle of the bands. Fate Hates Us played, and they played very well. It sounded sweet there, and I have a recording of it so we’ll see how that comes out. I think that they honestly should have one, but the judges were old and like the Jazz/Funk band 30 East better. I knew it was going to happen, but at least John Popper loved the way FHU sounded. He was actually on stage and talked to the guys afterwards. Very cool.

That sums up my weekend. This week is back to work, and Kate is on vacation as well. This could be fairly boring, but I think I have some setup stuff for Pig-Fest that should keep me busy. I am very excited for this party, it should be the best yet!
