I am really amazed at how much our little vegetable garden has grown over the last month.   I hope it’s not too much longer before we have some fresh produce.   Here is a picture I snapped as I walked into the house last night after work.

The tomatoes are by far the biggest and I put some cages on them a few weeks ago.   They are followed by the  broccoli  in the third row, and then probably the kale.   The peppers on the far left side haven’t grown too much, though I’m not sure if that’s normal or not.   The onions were doing great a week ago but then we had a rainy week and they don’t appear  to be as tall and strong as before.   Overall I am very impressed with the progress, take a look at this second picture which was taken just over a month ago.

Was excited to see this blog post hit google reader. Garden looks good. I’m definitely not an expert but I think peppers like a lot of sun. From my experience with jalapenos, habeneros, etc. even when I’ve planted them late and they haven’t grown as big as I expected they were still quite resilient and I suspect yours will probably still produce tons of peppers maybe just a little later than if they were in a sunnier spot. I’ve also seen some types of peppers (thai chili as i recall) where the plants didn’t get much bigger than when we bought them (this could have been due to abuse) but they still produced a lot.

Thanks, Roy. If I were to do it again I would definitely put the tomatoes on the far left side, next to the shed. That way they don’t block the light to other plants after growing so quickly. Peppers should probably be on the right hand side. Other than that, I think it’s going pretty well.
