Feeling Much Better

My doctor appointment was definitely worth it so far. I went in and told them all about my never ending cold and just wanting to see exactly what I’m allergic too. They ran a test for 72 different things on my back. Whatever drop caused a big bump to appear was something I was allergic to. Nothing was too surprising from the test results. I am allergic to about every tree, grass and weed there is. Not really the trees themselves, but the pollen they produce when blooming the leaves, flowers or whatever. I am also allergic to most of the airborne molds, but I always figured as much. The good news is that I’m not allergic to any of the animals they tested for, except cockroaches. I guess Amstel can stay for now. The one strange thing was the food allergies, according to them I am allergic to corn, soybeans and almonds. If you really know me, you know I love corn! That was a little shocking, but she said often that food reactions can often be a false positive. No big deal really. So then you are probably asking why I am having so many problems since my allergens are all spring and summer issues. Well she said that I am some sort of virus infection. She prescribed some antibiotics and steroids to knock this crap out of my system. It seems to be working so far! I feel so much better right now and it should be gone within 5 to 10 days. If not then I’ll just go back in and they will run some x-rays or something, but for now I can breathe once again!

I’m not entirely sure what we are going to do this weekend. Kim wants to watch Garden State tonight, so we may just have a night in. I want to see Napoleon Dynamite as well. Kim has been trying to make plans with Joel and Amanda so we’ll see if something goes down with them. We don’t have any concrete plans for the super bowl, but I’m sure something will work out…

The Day Has Arrived

I can finally take meds again sometime after my 11:15 appointment. I cannot wait! I really think I am sick again. This is partly my fault. Work ran out of plastic forks and refuses to buy new ones. This has left me using the same fork day after day to eat my standard salad lunch. Probably not the best idea, and I probably should have washed it, but that takes time. I am now going to use forks from home and take them back home with me to wash everyday. I just threw away any plastic utensils that were in my desk drawer. I would take some cold medicine, but even that is not allowed for this appointment. It’s crazy I tell ya. If you were on antidepressants you would not be allowed to take those for 72 hours either. Anything with antihistamines is ruled out. This better be worth it…

Groundhog Day

So the groundhog came out and saw his shadow this morning. However, Amstel went outside today and didn’t see his shadow. Shorter winter in KC! Sorry to all those suckers in Punxsutawney. :)

I have been off of allergy medication for a few days now, and it sucks. I guess I’ve made it this far though, so I better stay off of the drugs and go to the doc tomorrow. I’m really starting to think that I might be allergic to dogs. As much as I don’t want to believe it, it just might be true. The people who lived in our apartment before us had a dog and the apartment is where it is the worst for me. I guess all mysteries will be solved tomorrow. I just hope that it doesn’t involve too many needles!

The week has been pretty typical so far. I’ve got hockey again tonight. On Sunday I ended up hurting my wrist when I ran into a guy after taking a shot. Hopefully I avoid all injuries tonight. Kim is going to go to the movies with Amanda tonight. They are going to the Cinemark Palace At The Plaza where they offer movies in the VIP room. Basically you can drink and be even more comfortable while watching a movie…
