We keep on losing our hockey games. :( We only have one more game next Monday. That will be the last game I play until June, unless I go to open hockey or something else happens…

I bought tickets to see The Spin Doctors and The Gin Blossoms in Vegas while we are there! That is some quality old school music! I’m really looking forward to this trip…

For those of you that don’t already know, you can now access the site using www.edpaffjr.com. I’m just about done with a new version of the site as well, so be ready for that!

Happy Birthday Tim! (It was yesterday)

Friday I went from work directly to Baja 600 on the Plaza for happy hour. Todd was there, along with Susan and some other people she works with. We were drinking margaritas by the pitcher, and racked up quite a tab, it was perfect outside though. Good times!

Saturday, Kim and I went to a wedding shower kind of thing for a guy I work with. It was actually a lot better than I was expecting. Half of the crowd was doing shots of tequila and it was interesting to see most of the people I work with unwind for a while. I wanted to go to a couple of shows that night, but we ended up staying at the party until 11 or so. Hopefully more things like this happen soon…

Sunday brought with it the usual activities, and lunch at Chipotle! I had one of the largest burritos I’ve seen in awhile! Afterwards, it was time for the sopranos party and Todd’s birthday celebration over at Susan’s house. Great dinner with some huge chicken breasts, potatoes, corn, salad, bread, etc. I had to tape the Sunday Night radio show, and after the party listened to parts of it. Jim, the guy who runs it and brought me into the studio, is moving to Arizona and next week will probably be his last show. I hope the show goes on, and perhaps you’ll hear more of me on that station. :)

The Trolley Run is right around the corner, and it seems like almost everyone is going to do it. I’m going to run along with Todd, and Kim will probably stay on our pace as well. I don’t think she is in a hurry to get it over with. Doni and Phil are also participating, and everyone has the same goal of not puking while doing the race, haha.

Happy Birthday Dad!

It’s Friday and it is over 80 degrees outside. I’m ready to get out of here, sit outside somewhere and drink some beer!

We lost another hockey game last night. It was actually a good game though, especially since our goalie was kicked out. The playoffs start next week, so we better be at the top of our game.

Not too much is planned for this weekend, so it should be a nice one with great weather!

Monday night I had hockey. We lost the game again, but I stopped their goalie’s shutout with just a few minutes left. That made me feel pretty good, especially after playing a not so good game…

Tuesday we ran a couple miles. I guess we really needed to, since we are going to be running a 4 mile race in just over a week from now, The Trolley Run. This one should actually be pretty fun, Todd is going to be running in it and last night Phil said he was going to be walking at least. I think we can convince everyone to run with us, we don’t go that fast at all.
The nice thing is that I’ve been stretching so much that my IT Band isn’t hurting anymore. If you remember from awhile back, I had problems with my knee hurting after running a mile or so. I got new shoes from the running store and started stretching a couple times a day. Kim thinks that the problem has something to do with my tight hamstrings, so I’ve been working to fix that problem. I actually have improved though, and I can even touch my toes now, something that I never really did before!

Yesterday we did another 2 miles. I think we should be in pretty good shape for the race. Marathon runners never run the whole 26 miles in their training, so I don’t need to run the whole 4 miles in my training. :b
After that we met up with Doni & Phil at the Brooksider. I’m really starting to love this place. Doni and Phil are friends with all the locals there, who are most even older then they are, haha. :) The nice thing is that they all are retired and have quite a bit of money. Last night was 2 dollar drinks, so we decided to head up for a cheap night out. We got charged for 1 beer total at the end of the night, and we drank quite a few more than that. All of the regulars buy rounds for everyone, and give you these little wood hearts, which are good for a free drink as well. Walt Disney was there last night, well not the real Walt Disney he is obviously not alive anymore, but this guy is related to the famous one. Anyway, these people are all so nice, and are like having grandparents here in KC. :)

Oh yeah, Phil got pkenagy.com up and running. Check it out, there are some really funny pictures on there! :)

Here I am actually live on the radio! There are two segments that were taken from two different parts of the show with a couple seconds on silence between the two. Hopefully I don’t sound like that big of a dork, haha.
Listen here!

Back to another wonderful week of work…

Let’s see, on Friday Kim and I took it easy since we had to get up somewhat early on Saturday. We played a few games of two player euchre in a few different ways. I tried to find directions on the internet, and found all kinds of different ways to play, so we tried them all. Perhaps I’ll post a link to our favorite version, I think we need a few more games though…

Saturday we did wake up early to get our butts out to Lawrence, KS. Bobbi was intown with the rest of the UC crew team. We drove out to some river in Lawrence just in time to see them getting their boat ready and heading off to start the race. It was pretty chilly out and the last place I would want to be was that close to the water, but these people are nuts anyway. They wake up way before the sun rises to get out on the water before classes start, reminds me of morning hockey practice, yuck! Back to the race though, those boats really move. I was surprised, but I heard that they do reach a speed of about 11 mph or so. Bobbi’s team won the race, beating both KU and K-State. Their time also beat UC’s first varsity team time!

Sunday was Easter, so happy belated Easter to everyone! My day was full of things to do. First, we went to the Royal’s game. This was the 6th game of the season I think, and the Royal’s were just about 500. We did see a win though, so they are now 4 and 2 on the season. Hopefully this won’t be the last game we see…
Later in the day I went out to 97.3 The Planet studios for the Sunday night show with Jim McCroy and Chris Phoenix. I listen to their program just about every week and therefore they invited me to come in and participate in a show. You probably remember the clip I put up before where they played some songs that I picked out, well this time I was going into the studios to talk about these songs and other musicians. I’ll try and get another clip up of some of the show highlights. Even though you don’t see anyone who is listening to what you are saying, it is still kind of intimidating. The guys said I did a good job though, and so did Kim. It was a great time, and hopefully I’ll be able to do it again…

Ed really on the radio? That’s right! I’ll be sitting in on the Sunday Night show at 97.3 The Planet tonight! I’ll likely get to talk about a few of the songs getting played, and pick some of the songs once again. I wish there was a streaming audio link for you all to tune in, but I’ll try my best to record some of the cooler parts!

I’m off to the Royal’s game for now, more about the weekend later…

I’m guessing that most of you saw the pics of the blue fountain. The city is pretty obsessed. :)
I think that we are heading to a Royal’s game this weekend actually, on Easter!

Work has been really busy lately. I’m searching for the perfect automated testing tool for our company. It’s pretty cool that they are letting me pretty much decide what software we should purchase, but it is also kind of stressful…

Kim and I have been contemplating going on the rock boat this year. It’s an extended weekend cruise with something like 30 bands on the boat as well. It sounds like it would be nonstop fun, and for a pretty reasonable price, I think. You can check it out here and let me know what you think…

2004-04-05

Today is opening day for the Royal’s and I guess a bunch of other mlb teams. Almost our whole office is over at someone’s house watching the game and most importantly not working. I felt obligated to stay here at work since Steve was doing so. So I’m sitting here at work while others are out doing nothing. I should just leave and go home. :)

We went to both of the nearby museums yesterday. The nice things is that they are both free, minus one exhibit at the second museum. First we visited the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. I really don’t understand most of the abstract art, but there were a few interesting exhibits. It was a smaller sized museum and we went through it all pretty quickly. We then headed over to Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. This is a huge older building. There is everything from ancient European and Chinese sculpture, to modern paintings. There is definitely a bunch to see. I put some pictures up of both museums but only the outsides. I really didn’t see anything that was that interesting to me to take pictures of. Plus the guards might think I was a little weird.

We have a pretty typical Sunday planned for today. Laundry and cleaning, along with Chipotle!!!
